Southport is an historic village in Fairfield, Connecticut. Southport is located on Long Island Sound and borders Westport to the east. This historic town was settled more than 350 years ago in 1639. You will find many fine examples of pre and post Revolutionary architecture.

First settled in 1639, Southport was known as Mill River in its early years. Situated at the mouth of the river for which it was named, the village was a bustling commercial area with warehouses, churches, schools, stores and elegant houses by the early 19th century.

Fairfield Public Schools include 8 elementary schools (grades K-5), 2 middle schools (grades 6-8), and 1 high school (grades 9-12). Special Education programs serve home bound students as well as those with a variety of disabilities.
